Layout: AC/DC

Last summer my hometown had famous guests as AC/DC had a gig here. And this is not very usual to this smallish inland town. It was kind of a big deal here, so it should go to my scrapbook, even though I personally was not there to see the show. 

Rock music  and stars go together like bread and butter, so I dig out nearly all my old star embellishments. And that really old star paper. I find it very hard to use those cute polaroid framesand challenged myself to use one now. I had a lot to say, so I left a lot of space for journaling.

Viimekesän AC/DC keikka kotikaupungissani pääsi skräpättäväksi albumiini. Rock ja tähdet sopivat mun mielestä loistavasti yhteen, joten kaivoinkin kätköistäni melkein kaikki tähtikoristeet ja tuon vanhan tähtipaperin. Koska asiaa oli paljon, jätin paljon tilaa tarinoinnille.

Layout: Half of a pocket page and 12" layout

Last November we visited Santa Claus village for the first time with the girls. I had too many pictures to choose which to scrapbook, so I decided to use them all and add a 6x12" pocket page to the front. 

So when you open the album, you see the front of the 6x12" pocket page and half of the 12" page. Sorry for the glare... and that the colors aren't correct... pocket pages are so hard to photograph.

And finally here is the full 12" page. 

I really like to mix things up and keep scrapbooking fresh and fun all the time. I haven't done vertical title in a long time and even though it looked weird at first, I kinda like it now.

Me käytiin tyttöjen kanssa viime marraskuussa Joulupukin maassa. En osannut valita vain muutamaa valokuvaa skräpättäväksi, joten päätin laittaa osan 6x12" kokoiseen taskusivuun.    Mun mielestä on kiva välillä laittaa erikokoisia sivuja albumiin tuomaan vaihtelua. 

Another NSD16 layout and two challenges

I'm taking part of two challenges with this layout about my girls nap time. 

On Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine blog there is plenty of challenges and great prices to win! This is my take on the first challenge. The challenge was to pull out those paints or watercolours and create a layout using at least three different colours! I was also inspired by the example layout made by Stacy Cohen. 

And on Shimelle's blog the challenge was to use repetition. 

First I painted a watercolor cardstock with a rainbow in mind and die cut cloud shapes out of it. Placed them on a white yardstick background and after hard consideration decided not to add anything more other than my title and journaling.

Another layout with pocket page cards

There are some fun challenges over at Studio Calico forum and this one is about using PL or similar pocket page cards on a traditional layout. Great minds works alike, so in Shimelle's blog there is also a challenge using 3x4" cards.

I have done this before in a similar way on a layout here, but still loving the end result. This time I also used two 4x6 cards.

Studio Calicon foorumilla on kivoja NSD16 skräppäyspäivän haasteita, jotka ovat avoinna torstaihin saakka. Tässä haasteessa pitää käyttää Project Life kortteja tai muita taskuskräppäyskortteja. Myös Shimellen blogin haasteessa piti käyttää 3x4" kortteja. Olen käyttänyt niitä aiemminkin samallalailla leiskassa, mutta tällä kertaa käytin myös muutaman 4x6" kortin.  

Onko teillä paljon PL tms. kortteja käyttämättä? Miten te käytätte niitä?

iNSD2016 is here!

What a weekend its going to be with the (inter)National Scrapbooking day and Mothers Day all in one. In Finland we'll celebrate mothers tomorrow Sunday, but It fells like sort of a mothers day today as I get to have some scrappy time for me! Yay!

My first challenge for the weekend comes from Shimelle's blog where there will be challenges throughout the day. Wohoo! Challenge is to use stamps as an embellishments. I used this big floral image from Stampendous, and I coloured three of them with watercolours. Actually these were meant to go to a card, but decided to use them in a page instead. 

That background is done by my girls and I didn't know what to do with it so I decided to use it as a background of a layout that tells the story about how excited my girls are to draw at the moment. 

As the background was as busy as it is, I didn't want to use much pattern papers, just a few to emphasis my picture. I used a bit of gesso to mute down all that drawing and it gave me the perfect place to add my journaling.

Tänään on kansallinen skräppäyspäivä Amerikassa, ja se on jalkautunut myös tänne Eurooppaan. Shimellen blogissa on koko päivän haasteita, joihin ajattelin osallistua. Ensimmäisenä otan osaa haasteeseen jossa käytetään leimakuvia koristeina. Mulla leimattuna kolme Stampendouksen kukkakuvaa ja värittelin ne vesiväreillä. Taustana käytetty lasten piirrustelemaa paperia. :)

Layout: First Year - using up old products

This scrapbook layout took a lot of time to finish. It might not look like there was that much to do, but it's been sitting on my desk for ages. 

First I accidentally printed the pictures too small for another project and started to play with the idea of using teeny tiny pictures on a full size scrapbook layout. Pretty soon the idea of the first year came to me, and I started to see what sort of products I had to go with the idea. These oooold bing cards from Jenni Bowlin Studios were perfect, but February was already used. And then.... few months later I finally came up with the solution :D

I placed my title and journaling to that spot and some pictures from February as well. And I really like the end result, even if it is a bit simple for my usual taste. Variation is a good thing, I think.

Tätä skräppisivua tein kauan! Ei ehkä uskoisi kun katsoo, mutta niin vain on. Väärässä koossa vahingossa tulostetut kuvat ja iänikuisen vanhat Jenni Bowlin Studios:n bingokortit yhdistyivät muutaman kuukauden muhittelun jälkeen tällaiseksi vähän yksinkertaisemmaksi sivuksi. Mutta kyllä tykkään tästäkin. Vaihtelu virkistää!

Layout: All Dolled Up

Last summer we went to my best friends wedding and got some lovely pictures from there. This one is one of my favorites. Us girls all dressed up and pretty. 

Their wedding colors were mint, coral and gold, and I wanted to use them in my layout as well. Love this colorcombo and I will definitely use it again. 

I love to use a lot of embellishments and group them in three spots, but that upper right corner looked a little plain so I added a banner there. That also brings some festive feel to the page.

Kesällä juhlittiin ihanan bestikseni häitä ja saatiin sieltä mahtavia kuvia. Tämä kuva on yksi suosikeistani. Skräppisivussa halusin käyttää heidän häiden värejä: minttua, korallia ja kultaa. Aika ihana väriyhdistelmä! Vaikka yleensä tykkään tehdä koristerykelmiä sivuun kolmeen kohtaan, näytti oikea yläkulma vähän tyhjältä, joten laitoin sinne vielä tuollaisen viirinauhan. 

Shimellen skräppäysviikonloppu!

Woot! Ajattelin osallistua skräppäysviikonloppuun Shimellen blogissa. 

Tämä kuva tuli vastaan, kun siivoilin askarteluhuonetta ja samantien tuli mieleen tarina, jonka halusin kertoa. Voi nuoruus! Vaikka kameran hihna onkin osunut kuvaan mukaan, ei se mua haitannut. Parempi tämäkin kun ei kuvaa ollenkaan! 

Haasteena oli valita muutamasta haasteesta yksi jonka toteuttaa. Mahtavaa! Uusi ja vanha on suloisesti sekaisin mun sivussani. Tällaisessa haasteessa on parhainta se, että pääsee vanhasta tavarasta eroon, mutta tulee myös käytettyä uutta.

I decided to participate to the scrapbooking weekend at Shimelle's blog! Mixing old and new was my choice for the first challenge. I love this kind of challenges, and hope that I have time to participate to some others as well. 

Skräppäys - mahaselfie

Muutama kuukausi sitten julkaisin Instagramin puolella maistiaiskuvan tästä leiskasta ja sanoin että voisin vaikka blogata sen siinä kohtapuoliin. No nyt on se kohtapuoli vihdoin tullut. :D

Paperisilppua ja sekalaisia koristeita musteroiskeilla kyyditettyinä. Eipä mitään uutta. Tykkään silti.

P*skista taas tauon jälkeen / Skräppäys

Ihana Paula oli tehnyt niin inspiroivan luonnoksen että pakkohan sitä oli ottaa osaa p*skarteluhaasteeseen! 

Ajatus sivuun lähti siitä, että halusin käyttää erilaisia turkooseja kuviopapereita. Ensin ajattelin tekeväni sivun pelkästään turkoosina, mutta pikkuaakkosten kohdalla sopivaa sävyä ei löytynyt ja mieli meni keltaisen suuntaan. Ja sehän toimikin hyvin Noellen paidan raitojen kanssa. Luultavasti sivusta tuli kivempi kun siinä on tuo keltainen piristysruiske.
